Throughout his career Bob has been able to work in different places with ease, therefore he has worked for KFDM based in Beaumont, Texas as a reporter he worked there for 2 years. After that, he moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and joined KTVY where he served and by 1985 he was fortunate to win a first-place award for Spot News Reporting from Sigma Delta Chi.
Later in 1987, Bob joined the KUTV in Salt Lake City, Utah where he remarkably worked as a Special Projects Reporter and an Environmental Reporter. Bob spent 2 years in Intermountain West, then he decided to work as a news anchor in Oklahoma City on the weekend anchor desk, and from his exceptional well-done job, he was acknowledged with a UPI Tri-State Individual Reporting Achievement Award.
In addition to his career, Donaldson was fortunate to be appointed as the lead anchor in Indianapolis at WXIN FOX59 in 1991 after an extensive nationwide search when the station started its award-winning newscast, FOX59 News at 10. Besides that, Bob also served as a very important and key contributor during the most successful local news launches ever among Fox affiliates. Therefore, with his passionate spirit of hard work and dedication, he was able to help the WXIN, Fox Station of the Year both in 1992 and again in 1994.
